Wigtown words team up with Gannets Adventure School in Malawi
The pupils of Ganet’s Adventure School in Malawi came up with a whopping list of 1,254 words in English and Chichewa, which they whittled down to their favourite 20, some of which will be in the auction. Over 700 favourite words were also chosen by writers and festival-goers at Wigtown Book Festival 2010, a selection of these will be in the auction too.
The artworks will be on display from 28-30 May at The Bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland, as part of the Spring Fling arts festival.

Playing with ideas of the value of words, ideas for an online auction of words are developing . Linking with Gannets Adventure School in Malawi , a selection of words are being collected and auctioned with the help of graphic designers Steve McInerny and Stephanie Posavec .

I have been working with photographer Alison Marr to create a series of 'portraits' for 'Wordbespoke' which will be on exhibit in the Book Shop at Spring Fling 28th 29th May.
Wordbespoke : ways to carry favourite words around. Instead of producing more new STUFF I have been stitching onto existing clothes . This adds a new dimension to an existing garment with a word which has a special connection to the owner. The work has an element of co-creation with the word donator.
